BRIEF COMMENT ON AUSTRALIAN "TERROR PLOT"

There is no doubt that the so-called "terror plot" is a fake government psychological operation (psy-op) intended to keep the population scared and in line and conveniently "justify" the government's latest anti-freedom laws and their attempt to create a Police State. There are already many question marks, contradictions and conflicting statements. The problem is, the media has jumped onto the bandwagon to hype the "immediacy" of the apparent "threat" and is therefore acting in its usual role of government cheerleader and propagandist - rather than act as an objective observer and ask important questions.

An early indication that this affair is a government plot is the attempt by Federal Police commissioner Mick Keelty to suppress the details of the allegations against the group detained. The "details" will reveal the affair is either a fake government plot or at the very least, trumped up charges against some patsies and fall-guys. Some other points to consider:

• The group was under surveillance for "years" - why the urgency now?
• No details of the allegations have been released.
• The "threat" was as usual "unspecific" with no details of targets or actual plans - but it still "vindicates" the government's urgency to pass new laws. This also raises questions about the media's hype that speaks of a "terrorist attack" being "foiled".
• The whole affair coincidentally diverts attention away from controversial Industrial Relations changes and charges of corruption over a suspect government printing contract.
• Surely existing laws could have dealt with this issue. Why do we need a brutal and oppressive dictatorial Police State with "shoot-to-kill" powers to deal with a criminal matter? These people could have been arrested before all the anti-freedom measures were passed. They could have been kept under surveillance for longer until they became more of a "threat" (assuming for a moment the plot is real).

Even if (and that's a huge if) this "terror plot" is real, it would not be happening at all if John Howard hadn't prostituted Australia to join America's illegal wars of terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq. If we stop taking terrorism to innocent Muslims, they will stop trying to bring terrorism here.

It is this Western imperialism, invading Muslim countries and interfering in their affairs that is causing Muslims and people in the Third World to fight back in the first place! Until America and the West leave them alone and stops taking violence (the "ok" B52, Stealth bomber, laser-guided bomb version) to their streets - they'll keep bringing violence to our streets (the "evil" suicide and car bomb version).

IRAQIS SUPPORT RESISTANCE AGAINST FOREIGN OCCUPATION

• 45% of Iraqis believe attacks on US and British troops are justified
• Less than 1% believe that foreign forces are responsible for any improvement in security
• 82% are "strongly opposed" to the foreign occupation.

My only surprise is that 100% of Iraqis don't support attacks and are against occupation. I also believe that the number of Iraqis who support attacks is an underestimation. It was arounf 55% last year according to reliable polls.

BRITISH TERRORISM IN IRAN

Apart from the well-known British terrorism in Iraq, Britain has been caught out waging terrorism in Iran. In news not surprisingly ignored in the West, Iran recently arrested a British agent in connection with terrorist blasts in southern Iran. Additionally, the two SAS personnel arrested recently in Basra and freed by British troops smashing into their prison were probably also involved in terrorist attacks in both southern Iraq and Iran. They were caught red-handed with bomb making gear in their car.

Western terrorism and imperialism has continued for centuries and will likely not end for a long time. It's no wonder people in the Muslim and Third World are fighting back.

The following was the New York Times' similarly pro-government propaganda story from 3 September 1967 in relation to a sham "demonstration election" organised in Vietnam amidst American terror and killing: "U.S. Encouraged by Vietnam Vote :Officials Cite 83% Turnout Despite Vietcong Terror"

It's the same game; the same American imperialism, wars and killing and the same media lies and propaganda. When will it end?

BUSH ADMINISTRATION CUT FUNDING TO CORPS OF ENGINEERS

No surprise here for those who understand and are not blind to the crimes, lies and mismanagement of the criminal Bush regime: it cut funding to the US Corps of Engineers preventing them from commencing work on plans to extend and reinforce the levees around New Orleans.

This was revealed, not by the media (as far as I am aware) in all its hype over the New Orleans flood, but in a History Channel documentary screened today (Sunday, 16 October) in Sydney, Australia.

The Corps of Engineers already had plans to extend the levees but the Bush administration cutbacks prevented any work from commencing. This is almost too good to be true but no surprise considering the stupid Bush and the war criminals, international terrorists and megalomaniac aggressors that surround him. This can be added to all its other scandals: no action on AL Qaeda before 911; funding cutbacks to military benefits; not signing Kyoto protocol (which affects weather etc)...and so on. The list is too long to list and my memory fails me as I write. I'm sure you can add to this long list of sordid Bush scandals.

Bush funding cuts in 2004 compelled the Army Corps of Engineers to reduce flood-control work sharply, including badly needed strengthening of the levees that protected New Orleans. Bush’s 2005 budget called for another serious reduction — a speciality of Bush-administration timing, much like the proposed sharp cut in security for public transportation right before the London bombings in July 2005.

DRAMATIC EVIDENCE OF AMERICAN TERRORISM/ “DESTABILISATION” OPERATION IN BELARUS

The United States is surely behind recent bomb blasts in Belarus as part of an operation to “destabilise” Belarus and “regime change” its inconvenient leader to repeat their recent successful operations in Georgia, Ukraine and Lebanon.

Jane’s Defense Weekly reported on 17 August 2005 that the Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenka “is fast becoming the man Western politicians love to hate” and that US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice called him the “last dictatorship in Europe”. That’s the Western anti-Belarus propaganda at work.

Well on 18 May 2005, the US State Department’s spokesman, Richard Boucher, was actually forced to deny that the US was attempting to destabilise Belarus: “…Belarusian authorities’ accusations against this Polish diplomat appear to fit a pattern of false claims that the United States and other Western countries are attempting to destabilize Belarus”.

This means that it is probably true: the US and the “West” (i.e. America and its puppet state Britain) is trying to destabilise and topple the leader they “love to hate” and have smeared as a “dictatorship”. After-all, the Belarus government ought to know if foreign interference is at work in their country. These bombings are just too coincidental to be unrelated and seems to be repeating the Lebanon car bombing of Hariri that eventually toppled the "pro-Syrian" Lebanese government and forced Syria out of the country. The problem is, the media is not connecting the dots as they act as a conformist propaganda tool for the American government.
